A hill on the outskirts of Pyongyang and popular hiking spot. Enjoy the hike up to the top. Takes about an hour and is moderately strenuous.
- Dress comfortably and wear exercise shoes.
Best times to visit
- Since you’ll be outdoors, it’ll be best to visit when the weather and the season is good. Sundays are good to mix with local hikers.
- According to North Koreans, Kim Il Sung used to love to come here when he was a boy. The other kids were scared off by its name (“ryong” means dragon), but that never discouraged Kim Il Sung, the courageous young lad he was.
