History

First built in 1964 and expanded in 1979.

Fact File

  • A socialist modernist style dome with a total floor space of 15,000 square metres. Diameter of 45 metres and height of 27 metres. The circular stage is 13 metres in diameter. The theatre holds seating for 1,800. Seats are also circular in design.
